The photographer Dudu Medeiros began contributing to aesthetic dentistry in 1998 at the Dickson Fonseca Dental Office, where he took the first steps towards what later became Protocolo Fotográfico de Face (Facial Photographic Protocol): photo shooting patients before and after their dental treatment and contextualing those images in a language represented by lighting, framing, make-up, and art direction. Such language would be able to bring out aesthetic differences achieved through dental handling, appraising the professional performance of the entire team involved in the job, not only at the office but also at the laboratories.

The Protocolo Fotográfico de Face has become a strong asset to top Brazilian Aesthetic Dentistry professors, such as Oswaldo Scopin, Hirata, and Newton Fahl. This work also illustrates the extraordinary book Invisível (Invisible), by Prof. Sidney Kina and has become known by internationally reputed professionals as Sascha Jovanovic, Bernard Touaty and most importantly Prof. Dr. Didier Dietschi, Aestheticphoto.com patronizer. Professor Dietschi came up with the idea of creating a site where images could be acquired by professionals who loved photography and aesthetics.
